Starting in the Spring and lasting until about December 10 of each year, The Runway is a leadership development program that hands over the operational reins of our flagship location - Lost River Hostel - to two people each year. During your experience, you will have an opportunity to lead teams, organize projects, and build a shared culture of growth.
You’ll have weekly meetings with our executive director about what you’re learning and how to improve your skillset. We will focus on effective communication, efficient planning, building structure, and empathetic guidance.
You can’t get the job if you don’t have experience, and you can’t get experience if you can’t do the job.
It’s a riddle as old as time for future leaders, and The Runway is a key that can help solve this puzzle. When you complete the program your life’s toolbox will be much, much more robust than when you began.
Past graduates have gone onto all levels of management and leadership - from entrepreneurship to teaching to small businesses to large corporations.
During your stay you’ll have a place to stay removed from the hustle and bustle of the main farmhouse. You and one other participant will be given the reins of Lost River Hostel and surrounded by an extensive support network to help guide you. You’ll have a budget for food, a small per diem, and a 1k additional stipend upon completion of the program.
